Iron is Iron

This 1912 AT&T Telegraph Key was dissasembled from a solid mass of rust and corrosion. After 12 days in a bath of recurring liquids, I could finally begin the transformation. It turned out to be a beautiful piece which still displayes the AT&T markings along with "Western Electric" on the bypass slide. It is mounted on a solid Iron stove-top "iron" from the 40's. It has been painted flat black and has a chromed chain wrapping the key switch. The footswitch pedel is a One Dollar United States Gold Coin that was found using a metal detector on the coast of Florida. There is also a small chrome skull mounted on the reverse side of the pedal switch. This piece also comes with a custom cord that has been pre-mounted. Other highlights inlude copper wiring wrapped in areas for exciting color contrast. Looks like this one has just been sold to the world famous Gaston Siciliano from FK Irons fame. Congrats Gaston!

Start Somewhere

This sold brass base was purchased at auction by me in early June of 2011. It is a 1930 telegraph base and uses ball bearings in it's base to ensure smooth movement. This one had to sit in disolving liquid for a week before I could even see it was solid brass! This was the first project I got started with, and the first to sell. I used bulleting and custom copper wire on this one. It sits on a glossy black wood base with brass corners. It also has an old American Nickel on it's foot pedal. Congrats to Rico for being the new owner of this one.

Woot Woot!

This one started it's like waaaaay back in the day as a Lionel Train Switch! It is what started the whole thing! This is a REAL J-38 switch with it's base planted on a custom wood back. The wood was painted jet black and shined up nicely with a thick poly. I used a special gold American one dollar coin on this one, and I would love to keep it as my own! Please be aware that your friends will try to steal this from you! It is a very large switch, and looks like you are controlling the universe with it! If you are interested in this one, mail me right away! This one just got bought up by a co-worker once it was in his hand! Congrats!

Brass City

Originally made for AT&T way back in the early 1900's by the now famous Menominee Electric MFG Co., this piece now is a beauty once again. It took me a very long time to get this where I was happy to put it on the page for sale, and I have to say that I am very proud of the way it came out. I recently got back from a trip to Guatemala, and made sure to come home with some nice looking change. I used one of those coins on this piece to remind me of the hard work those people put in each day just to eat. This is in perfect condition and will blow you away. Custom brass brads and screws hold it all together with bass corners and a shine that will last forever.

Military Dreams

This switch is one of my favorites and will be hard to sell. It started out on April 6th, 1942 as a Hand Telegraph Key made exclusively for the US Navy. The brass which was once used by the manufacturers had to be used as ammo casing, and for that reason Linquist Tool and Manufacturing from Worcester, Ma. was forced to build these units in steel. These are very rare, ESPECIALLY with all the materials to prove its name. I have fastened it to a custom wood base and hand painted it with era correct military camo. Forged a special place on the top of this to house the ORIGINAL packing invoice and used copper wire to build a small barbed wire fence around it. This also comes with a custom made cord in heavy duty wire, and aligator clips to attach it to the switch itself. This will have to go to a good home, or be put on display! The details on this one are AMAZING! Comes with SPENT BULLET CASINGS!
